According to recent reports, the Brazilian midfielder is unsettled in Naples and with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain among his interested suitors, is angling for a summer switch after this season finishes.
Napoli midfielder Allan is ready to force a summer exit, as his head has been turned by Brazilian compatriots who play for Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG expressed an interest in him last summer as well as this past January – though were unwilling to meet his €80m (£69.1m) valuation. However, he has already reportedly sought talks with club president Aurelio de Laurentiis to clarify his future and allow him to depart once the 18/19 season is complete.
Tuchel a fan, Paris his preferred destination
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be a fan of the 28-year-old and after watching him in their Champions League group stage fixtures earlier this term, has personally endorsed his arrival. Wantaway midfielder Adrien Rabiot and Christopher Nkunku both expected to leave in July.
Manchester United were also said to be monitoring the Brazilian’s progress, though he has his heart set on a move to Paris. Already bracing themselves for the departure of ball-winning midfielder Ander Herrera on a free to PSG, it’s another blow that new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to deal with in what promises to be a busy summer for the Red Devils.
De Laurentiis is said to want a fee closer to €100m (£86.4m) and having signed a contract extension this time last year until 2023, he certainly will not come cheap.
However, Allan’s agent Juan Manuel Gemelli had discussions regarding a possible PSG move a few months ago. The player himself is adored by many, respected by all and given he’s an integral figure at Napoli, doesn’t want to damage his reputation nor relationships with the club by demanding a transfer.
Instead, he’s eager for the powers that be to accept a reasonable offer from PSG this summer – having established himself as one of the world’s best defensive midfielders in recent seasons – while making his international debut for Brazil. Since a £10m move from Udinese in 2015, he has made 175 appearances for Napoli, including 130 in Italy’s top-flight.
Playing alongside PSG stars Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Dani Alves and Neymar, reports have claimed the quartet have encouraged him into considering a move and now he’s personally convinced it’d be in his best interests.
PSG are expected to offer a fee in the region of €60m this summer, though Napoli will command a higher sum. Alves and Marquinhos have both played in midfield this season, but should Allen arrive, the pair – particularly the latter – would be shifted back into their natural positions in defence.
