Tyson Fury made the third defence of his WBC heavyweight title with a predictably one-sided tenth-round stoppage win against domestic rival Derek Chisora during their trilogy bout – eight years on from their second bout. Beforehand, there was a courageous comeback win for Daniel Dubois while Karol Itauma and Denys Berinchyk were among the victors on the undercard. Oleksandr Usyk outboxes Anthony Joshua to points win, new world heavyweight champion
Spoiler role played perfectly. Even after patchy Carlos Takam weekend win, time is of the essence for Joe Joyce
After ending Carlos Takam’s night with a sixth-round TKO finish on Saturday, he called for a title fight against the AJ-Usyk winner ringside. Nonetheless, British heavyweight contender Joe Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs, #2 WBO) knows it’s not that straightforward – as much as he’d like it to be – considering he’s 36 in September and doesn’t have time to waste hovering below the top guys. Joshua-Usyk title fight date set for Sept. 25, but don’t overlook the Ukrainian
After the September 25 date for Anthony Joshua’s latest title defence was announced earlier today, he’ll defend his heavyweight belts against an unbeaten Ukrainian and fellow Olympic gold medallist in former cruiserweight king Oleksandr Usyk (#1 WBO). AJ will be favoured to win on home soil again, but it’s not difficult to imagine Usyk silencing critics in two months’ time.

He also wants to place WBA interim middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr on the undercard, who hasn’t fought since Dec. 2019.

Oleksandr Usyk outpoints Derek Chisora, becomes new WBO inter-continental HW champion
Oleksandr Usyk outpointed Derek Chisora to inflict the 37-year-old’s tenth professional career defeat in an entertaining main event matchup overnight, winning the WBO intercontinental heavyweight title on a night where Sky’s positive spin did little to help the British-based fighter against a far superior technical boxer who took his best punches and showcased his engine too.
