Everton 0-2 Manchester City: Laporte and Jesus score as Citizens reclaim top spot

Stoppage-time strikes in either half from Aymeric Laporte and substitute Gabriel Jesus ensured Manchester City returned to the Premier League summit, after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with West Ham on Monday. Despite an early scare, England racked up the goals in a 6-1 thrashing over Panama – sealing their place in the last-16 while simultaneously sending the south Americans home. 

Harry Kane netted a hat-trick, there were two for a surprise goalscorer while Jesse Lingard also got on the scoresheet. Everton crank up asking price for Stones as City interest continues

The Toffees have reportedly set an asking price of £50m for clubs interested in signing John Stones – who seems set on a move away from Goodison PARK this summer.

After Chelsea had bids rejected for the talented defender last season, Everton were public in their desire to keep hold of John Stones. However, it has become apparent that he wants to leave and new manager Ronald Koeman doesn’t seem content keeping a player against his wishes – provided the clubs interested pay a fee close to their asking price.
