Unbeaten mandatory challenger Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez will face WBA champion Dmitry Bivol next, so it seems. Joshua Buatsi, whose world title ambitions were solidified after beating Craig Richards, agreed to enter talks for a sanctioned IBF final eliminator against Jean Pascal for one of the three light-heavyweight titles currently owned by Bivol’s compatriot Artur Beterbiev.

Frank Warren today confirmed light-heavyweight contender Callum Johnson has withdrawn from his scheduled January 15 title fight against WBO champion Joe Smith Jr, while revealing another of his stable – #1 mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde – is consequently monitoring the state of affairs, with an in-ring return mooted sometime in March for the 30-year-old.

After a ninth-round KO win over Italy’s Davide Faraci, Lyndon Arthur (19-0, 13 KOs) remained unbeaten last weekend while making the first defence of his WBO inter-continental LHW title, which he won via split decision vs. Anthony Yarde on December 5. Promoter Frank Warren, who manages the pair, insists their rematch is next, despite the circumstances surrounding both.
